Redeemer leadership


Redeemer Church is led by a plurality of pastors/elders. Redeemer pastors are biblically qualified men who shepherd, oversee, teach, protect, and lead the church with God’s Word.

Richard serves as the Lead Pastor of Redeemer. He’s a lifelong resident of Livingston (Doyle High grad, class of ‘94). Richard is married to Elise (also a Doyle High grad), and they have three children. They love calling Livingston home.

Richard has served in vocational ministry since 2002, and in April 2016 he followed the Lord’s direction to start Redeemer. His passion is to shepherd the church through preaching and teaching God’s Word, leading people to know Christ and to become more like Christ. Richard also loves to lead Redeemer in engaging in God’s great work of making disciples of all nations.

Richard holds a Master of Divinity (2005) and Doctor of Ministry in Expository Preaching (2015) from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Master of Theology (2020) and Doctor of Philosophy in Missiology (2021) from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

GREG COVINGTON

Greg has been attending and serving Redeemer since September 2017. Greg is married to Amy, and they have three children and two grandchildren. Greg works as a Rotating Equipment Maintenance Supervisor at Nutrien Corp. in Geismar.

Greg was affirmed as a Redeemer Elder in June 2022. His passion in local church ministry is biblical counseling, and he finds great joy in shepherding people through sharing truth and wisdom from God’s Word. He leads Redeemer Recovery, Redeemer’s addiction recovery ministry that meets each week.

Greg earned an Associate’s degree in Christian Ministry and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Counseling from Leavell College at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He recently completed his Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and will begin work on his Doctor of Ministry in Biblical Counseling degree in 2025. Greg is a Commissioned Addictions Biblical Counselor and is pursuing certification as a Biblical Counselor through the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors.

JOE ARCENEAUX

Joe has been attending and serving Redeemer since October 2016. He is married to Tami, and they have three children and five grandchildren. Joe is a local business owner and a Louisiana Board-Certified Entomologist. He is a United States Air Force veteran and has served in law enforcement.

Joe was affirmed as a Redeemer Elder in June 2022. His desire is to shepherd Redeemer by cultivating personal discipleship relationships through God’s Word, connecting especially with men in one-to-one contexts. He also delights in engaging in and supporting global missions. Joe leads one of our small groups and is pursuing certification as a Biblical Counselor through the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors.
